Reading: Students will be working on their culminating Roald Dahl independent projects which will be introduced today. Ask your child about this as they have a choice of completing a combination of projects that total 100 points. Each group completed a Protagonists Profile last week and will be presenting to the class this week.
Math: We will be finishing up Unit 13 ( Using benchmarks to compare fractions) and have our final test this Wednesday. It will cover 13.1- 13.7 Writing: Continuing our work on Accomplished Latina Women, now that students have completed the research portion, they will begin working on their rough drafts as as complete the timeline and map portion of the project. Cursive Handwriting- each student has been given a Cursive Handwriting notebook. We will be practicing for the next few weeks.While often challenging, we want students to understand and appreciate the basics of reading and writing in cursive. Social Studies We will finish out unit on The SE Region of the US with 2 last stops: Gee's Bend, Alabama where we will learn about the art of quilting and Montgomery, Alabama- The Birthplace of the Civil Rights Movement. Students will have their culminating test on the SE Region on Wednesday. They will get to use their SS book to assist them. Grammar/Spelling- Quick check on prefixes and suffixes. Student swill write a paragraph (topic of their choice) where they will need to use and underline at least 5 of each correctly.
