Reading:
Students will finish reading their back to school novel, “A Boy Called Bat” by Elana Arnold. Students will review the major elements and events of the story. Students will discuss the theme of friendship in the book and then make a friendship flip book for themselves. Students will then complete the novel test on Friday, September 27th. Students will also start Wordly Wise this week. Writing: Students will be introduced to different hooks for starting a personal narrative. Students will practice writing hooks and then select one for their narrative. Math: Students will review the concepts presented and practiced in topic 8 and take the assessment on Tuesday, September 24th.Students will start Topic 9 mid-week. Science: Students will continue to explore weather and climate as meteorologists. Students will look at different locations around the world and compare the temperatures and rainfall data.Students will then share out their findings. Students will then use the information learned in chapter 1 of their investigation and write an email to the World Protection Organization explaining which island would be best for the Orangutans they are working to protect using evidence from their investigation.
