Reading: Roald Dahl literature circles will continue. Roles will change again so students will have a chance to have a different job. We will continue to read informational text in class and begin learning about how to identify non-fiction text structures (chronological order, cause/effect, problem/solution and compare/contrast)
Math: Topic 12 on fractions continues with identifying and placing fractions less than and greater than 1 on a number line. Full day of review on Thursday with test on Friday (12.1-12.5). Monday we will begin line plots.
Gum/Grammar: You're and your
Writing: Students have all completed writing their persuasive letters and will finish typing them with final edits and revisions by Wednesday. Later in the week we will start our new unit which will involve research and note-taking on accomplished Latina women in honor of Women's History Month.
Wordly Wise: Lesson 7.E, review and test on Friday
Science: Inheritance and Traits Chapter 2; exploring patterns, reading about parents and offspring and modeling pattens in parents and offspring.
Social Studies: SE Region next 2 stops: Memphis and the Gulf of Mexico. Students will gain an appreciation and understanding for the history of the Memphis Blues as well as participate in an oil rig activity.
